The Piece
"Movement held still in thread"
White horses move together as though the weaver had captured the exact moment before stillness returns. The composition is landscape in format a deliberate choice. The bronze-brown border carries the density of Hereke geometry; inside it, the horses occupy a field of warm cream and muted sand, tones that give the figures room to breathe and move. Silk renders the coat of a horse better than any other material: a sheen without exaggeration.
